Inspiration to use lavender in fun ways!

DIY Lavender Disinfectant Spray

1/14/2018

Historically lavender was strewn over floors in castles and sickrooms as a disinfectant and deodorant. Lavender’s name comes from Latin root word, ‘lavare’ which means to wash or clean. This makes perfect sense as this oil is one of the best-smelling and naturally antibacterial essential oils.

Today we can use the same basic idea to wash with this easy, quick and simple "Lavender-sol" disinfectant spray. We used our lavender essential oil distilled on our farm.

Use it around your house on faucets, counter tops, door knobs and light fixtures, prevent mold and mildew, deodorize your bathroom, running shoes, gym bag and more.

I am Nicole Callen, lavender lover, farmer, and owner of Norwood Lavender Farm. My intention for this page is to bring you great lavender related content that you can use. Most of it contains culinary adventures that transpire in my kitchen, as I have a love for the complex floral flavor and depth that lavender brings to cooking.
