Sustainability Statement We take sustainability seriously at Norwood Lavender Farm by promoting and implementing practices that work toward good stewardship of our soil, pollinators and workers through four levels of sustainability. Soil and Water Conservation- Lavender is a drought tolerant plant requiring very little water once established. If a new section of lavender is planted we use drip hose directly to plant to prevent evaporation or overuse of water. Breathable ground cloth is used to preserve erosion and allow soil to breathe. Promote Pollinators-We work to promote pollinator habitat by providing flowers, water source, and select native plants where we can successfully support a diversity of species. No Chemical Fertilizers or Pesticides Used-Although we are not certified organic we value and adhere to the strict standards and guidelines advised in the National Organic Program. We use no chemicals fertilizers or pesticides within the boundary of our property and compost debris whenever possible. Fair Wages-We implement to all workers fair wages and working conditions which is reasonable suitable with the value of services rendered.
Working together to make a better more sustainable lifestyle for our planet.
