What makes our farm fresh Culinary Lavender extra ordinary and premium grade? The time that we take to harvest the lavender just at the peak of perfection. In season we only cut the lavender stems that are at the ripe stage. Just like a berry bush where you have various ripeness of fruit. Lavender is similar to a berry bush so instead of harvesting the whole plant we hand select the lavender stems that are ripe for harvesting. Once selection and cutting has occurred they get hung in bundles to air dry for two weeks. Then taken down and placed in airtight storage containers until we package them into food grade packaging. Lavender is known to deter bugs and draw beneficial insects so although we are not officially certified as a Organic farm although we take pride in growing everything on the farm organically, without use of pesticides, herbicides or chemicals. As a small farm we take pride in harvesting, drying, and debuding our lavender by hand on our small family run farm in Oregon, USA. This helps us insure that you are getting product that is at peak freshness. Lavender can be used for more than tea try our culinary lavender in place of rosemary in your cooking, grilling or baking. Tastes fantastic in dressings, cookies, lemonade, desserts, rubs, garnishing, and on its on as a tea or use as a garnish. So versatile in both savory or sweet dishes.
