Lavandula is the latin genus name for Lavender and is a member of the mint family.
It is grown by propagating new plants with cuttings. It is known throughout the world for its fragrance and beauty. It is a drought tolerant plant that thrives in dry sandy rocky soil that has good drainage. This picture illustrates the proper terminology for the parts of the lavender plant.
