I recently went out with a friend where I had a drink that had smoked rosemary. This made me begin to think about lavender of course! So I did a little experimenting for a smoked lavender cocktail. This is what I came up with and I am pleasantly pleased. To make your smoked drinks at home it helps to have your glasses cold so the smoke can adhere better to the glass. So in advance stick your glasses in the freezer for about 15-30 minutes. Smoked Lavender Whiskey Sour 6 Tbsp Lavender Lemonade Mix 2 cups seltzer water 2 shots whiskey 2 Lavender Cocktail Picks Ice Serves 2 Prepare the drink in a shaker, I don't shake but instead stir as I prefer seltzer water for this version. If it's not cold you can stick a few ice cubes in before beginning. Once your recipe is made up and you've poured your drink in the cold glasses stick your Lavender Cocktail Picks into drink, place them on a cake plate that has a domed lid. You can make your own variation of something in your house that will work. For example a bowl over a plate would work just fine too. Light the lavender cocktail picks on fire and immediately stick your lid on top. This will allow the smoke to billow slightly before losing oxygen and going out. Yummm, cheers to a new smokin' drink!!!!
